International Food Day at Lexis Sydney – Manly!

Our students Wilson from Venezuela, Yunus & Simge from Turkiye and Rina from Japan!

Today our students had the opportunity to showcase the culinary treasures from their home countries as we came together to celebrate our own International Food Day! A beautiful celebration of all the amazing, diverse cultures that make our campus so special. With students and staff from across the globe, our community is a vibrant mix of cultures, languages, and traditions. What better way to celebrate that richness than through something we all love – food!

Students proudly prepared and shared signature dishes from their home countries, offering everyone a taste of their culture, from treasured family recipes to popular street food favourites. International Food Day gave us a chance to connect on a deeper level, to learn from each other, share our traditions, and appreciate the incredible diversity that unites us.

Celebrating Global Flavours:

One of the most beautiful aspects of our Lexis community is our diversity. We have students from various cultural backgrounds, each bringing their unique traditions, flavours, and recipes to the table. International Food Day was the perfect opportunity to showcase this diversity and celebrate it altogether. Our students were so excited to share stories about their homes and favourite national dishes. It was amazing to see everyone connect and exchange – what a great way to form new friendships and meet other students!

Cultural Exchange & Learning:

Events like International Food Day are essential in fostering cultural understanding and connection. By coming together to celebrate our cultures through the universal language of food, we create meaningful moments that promote unity and inclusion within our community.

Shared meals lead to shared stories, and those experiences are so special. This event gave our students the opportunity to not only honour their own heritage, but also to appreciate the rich cultural backgrounds of their classmates – building friendships, encouraging mutual respect, and strengthening the vibrant, diverse community we’re proud to be part of.

Creating Lifelong Memories:

For many students, International Food Day will be one of the many highlights of their school experience, creating lasting memories that they will cherish for years to come. Whether it was the excitement of trying new foods, the joy of sharing a meal with friends, or the pride of showcasing their own cultural heritage, this event will leave a lasting impression on all of our students.

We are grateful for the opportunity to explore the flavours of the world and look forward to many more food adventures in the future with our awesome students at Lexis! Have more of a look below of the outstanding efforts our students put into the day and the awesome memories that were created:
