Fun Activities at Lexis Sydney – Manly: City Tour, Tote Bag Decorating, Picnic & End of Term BBQ!
Recently at Lexis Sydney – Manly, our social activities have been all about fun times, creativity, and connection. As the weather warms up, we’ve been embracing the change in season and soaking up the sun! Students enjoyed a variety of experiences that blended fun with learning, making afternoons after class both engaging and memorable.
From exploring Sydney’s rich history on a guided city tour through The Rocks, to getting creative with personalised Tote Bag decorating, and finishing the term with a classic Aussie BBQ & a Beach-side Picnic, there was something for everyone to enjoy. These activities provided the perfect opportunity for students to practice English in real-life settings, connect with classmates, and immerse themselves in local culture – all while having a memorable time.
City Tour:
We kicked off the activities with a true taste of Sydney’s history! On a guided tour through The Rocks, the oldest & coolest part of Sydney. Students wandered cobblestone laneways, discovered hidden stories from the city’s early days, and got up close to the iconic Harbour Bridge.
With every step, there were new sights to see, fun facts to learn, and great opportunities to practice English. It was the perfect way to explore one of Sydney’s most historic areas, and share a memorable afternoon together. We wrapped up the tour with a well-earned drink at a local pub overlooking the harbour – relaxing, refreshing, and the perfect way to take in the stunning view after an afternoon of exploring.
Tote Bag Decorating:
Creativity was in full swing during our tote bag decorating session! Students had the chance to design and personalise their own reusable bags, using fabric paints, and a bit of imagination. It was a fun, hands-on way to express individual style while chatting, laughing, and sharing ideas with new friends. Whether it was a bold design or a simple message, each bag showed the creative talents of our students – and made for a fun, personalised souvenir to take home!
End of Term BBQ & Picnic:
To celebrate the end of term, students came together for a classic Aussie BBQ and a relaxed class picnic by the beach. With delicious food, sunny skies, and plenty of laughter, it was the perfect setting to unwind and reflect on the term. Everyone enjoyed sharing stories, playing casual games, and soaking up the coastal vibes. It was a great opportunity to connect with classmates outside the classroom, practice English in a natural setting, and make lasting memories before saying goodbye – or see you soon!
