A Festive Experience: Christmas Cocktail Class at Lexis Manly!
Welcome to the exciting world of cocktails, where creativity, technique, and flavour collide to create memorable experiences! The holiday season is upon us, and what better way to celebrate than with a Christmas-themed cocktail class at Lexis Manly! Today our students had the opportunity to dive into the festive spirit by learning how to make some delicious cocktails.
A total of 20 students signed up for this class and were eager to learn the tips and tricks of the mixology world. Our students made new friends, practiced their English skills and sipped on their fabulous creations. Let’s take a closer look at this exciting event and the joy it brought to everyone involved.
A Hands-On Experience:
Today our students learnt the essential skills and techniques for cocktail making, from properly measuring ingredients, to shaking and stirring techniques, as well as garnishing cocktails. They carefully measured and mixed ingredients, shook and stirred their concoctions, and garnished their drinks with festive touches.
Whether our students were a complete beginner or had made cocktails before, the class catered to all skill levels and provided a fun and interactive learning environment for everyone. All our students truly had a fun, hands-on and immersive experience learning the insider tips and tricks of the mixology world!
Learning the Art of Mixology:
During our cocktail class, our students had the opportunity to delve into the fundamentals of mixology and learn essential techniques for crafting the perfect cocktail. Our students learnt how to make two Christmas inspired cocktails – “The Mrs Claus” and a classic “Christmas Punch.” See the recipes below:
The Mrs Claus
- 30 ml of vodka
- 15 ml of lime juice
- 30 ml of cranberry juice
- 40 ml raspberry lemonade
- Garnish with a sugar rim
Christmas Punch
- 250 ml (1 cup) Rum
- 500 ml (2 cups) Ginger Beer
- 500 ml (2 cups) Peach Iced Tea
- 10x Strawberries Cut up
- 4x Apples Cut up
- ¼ Mint Leaves
Memories to cherish:
Beyond the cocktails, the activity was a fantastic opportunity for students to socialise and make new friends. It was a chance to practice English in a fun and relaxed environment, all while leaning new skills. Our students were able to build relationships, exchange ideas, and enjoy a fun and interactive learning experience outside of the classroom.The activity fostered a sense of community and camaraderie, which is at the heart of the Lexis experience.
