Fun Activities at Lexis Sydney – Manly: Aussie Beer Tasting,
Beach Volleyball, Coastal Walks & A Pizza Mingling Activity!
Recently at Lexis Sydney Manly, our activities have been all about connection, exploration, and enjoying the beach lifestyle. We believe that learning continues far beyond the classroom, and each activity gives students the chance to practice English naturally while creating meaningful connections and unforgettable memories.
From a relaxed Pizza Mingling afternoon in the student lounge to energetic matches of Beach Volleyball, students had plenty of chances to chat, unwind, and practice English in a fun setting. Our Aussie Beer Tasting & Trivia brought lots of laughs with rounds on Manly, Aussie slang, and iconic celebrities and landmarks, with the winning team taking home Tim Tams and classic Aussie lollies. We also recently went on a stunning Coastal Walk along the Northern Beaches, discovering hidden gems and beautiful ocean views. It’s been a fantastic mix of beach fun, community, and coastal adventures!
Pizza Mingling Activity:
Recently, we held a fun Pizza Mingling Activity in the student lounge! Students gathered to enjoy delicious slices while chatting, meeting new friends, and practicing their English in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The event brought everyone together for a casual afternoon of conversation, laughter, and community building – the perfect break from classes and a great way for new students to settle in and connect.
Beach Volleyball:
One of our favourite activities here at Lexis Sydney Manly is Beach Volleyball, and with the courts just a quick 5-minute walk from campus, it’s the perfect way to spend an afternoon. Students love getting together for friendly matches in the sunshine, practicing their teamwork and communication skills while enjoying the incredible coastal backdrop. It’s a great chance to stay active, make new friends, and soak up the classic Manly beach lifestyle – all right on our doorstep.
Aussie Beer Tasting & Trivia:
On Friday, we hosted a lively Aussie Trivia and Aussie Beer Tasting afternoon, giving students a fun and flavour-filled way to learn more about Australia. The trivia included rounds on Manly, Aussie slang, and iconic Australian figures and landmarks, where teams guessed the names of celebrities, famous places, and classic Aussie icons. Between questions, everyone enjoyed sampling a selection of local beers and chatting with new friends. The competition was fierce, but our winning team proudly took home a stash of Tim Tams and Aussie lollies. It was the perfect mix of culture, laughter, and friendly rivalry!
Coastal Walk:
We also recently took a beautiful coastal walk from Dee Why to Manly, giving students the chance to discover some of our local hidden gems. Along the way, we enjoyed stunning ocean views, quiet coves, rock pools, and scenic lookout points that truly showcase the beauty of Sydney’s Northern Beaches. It was a relaxing and refreshing way to explore the area while chatting, taking photos, and experiencing the best of our coastal backyard.
