Lexis English Sunshine Coast Weekly Recap – Welcome & Farewell! | Week of June 2nd, 2025
What a fantastic week we’ve had here at Lexis English Sunshine Coast! With blue skies, sunshine, and that signature laid-back coastal vibe, our students have been making the most of everything this beautiful part of Queensland has to offer. Whether it was soaking up the sun during our fun-filled outdoor activities, diving into engaging lessons in the classroom, or simply sharing laughs with classmates from all over the world, the energy on campus has been nothing short of amazing.

Welcome to Our New Students!
This week, we were thrilled to welcome five wonderful new students to our Lexis Sunshine Coast family:
Daniel and Diego from Brazil
Matias from Chile
Mai from Japan – who is actually returning after 2 years!
Erika from New Caledonia
We can’t wait to see how each of you grow in your English journey and make lifelong memories here! Each of them is here on the adventure of a lifetime and we really look forward to helping them achieve their goals and experience Australian life to the fullest!
️ This Week’s Activities
It was an action-packed week here at Lexis Sunshine Coast, with two exciting student activities that gave everyone the chance to enjoy the outdoors, stay active, and connect with classmates in a fun and relaxed setting.
♂️ Kayaking Adventure
On Wednesday, we hit the water for an unforgettable kayaking experience! With clear skies above and calm, sparkling waters below, conditions were perfect for paddling. For many students, it was their very first time in a kayak—but you’d never know it! After a quick safety briefing and a few practice strokes, everyone was gliding like seasoned pros.
We explored the tranquil waterways near Chambers Island and even spotted a few curious fish along the way. There were plenty of laughs (and a few splash battles!), and some students got a bit competitive with friendly races. It was a great way to enjoy the natural beauty of the Sunshine Coast while building confidence and teamwork. By the end of the day, everyone left with a big smile and slightly sore arms!
Outdoor Fitness Class at Cotton Tree Park
On Friday, we swapped the classroom for the great outdoors with a high-energy fitness session in the scenic Cotton Tree Park. Surrounded by swaying trees and views of the river, our students got moving with a fun, inclusive workout designed for all fitness levels.
From group stretches and bodyweight exercises to light cardio, the session was as much about bonding and having fun as it was about breaking a sweat. Our fitness coach kept the energy high, and there was plenty of encouragement and cheering along the way.
It was the perfect way to wind down after class, recharge in nature, and enjoy a bit of healthy living under the Queensland sun. Not to mention, it’s always great to balance brainwork with body movement!
Congratulations to Our Graduates!
While we welcomed new faces, we also said a heartfelt see you later to five amazing students who graduated this week:
Hojun and Manon from our Upper Intermediate class!
Hojun has been with us for 12 weeks and it is safe to say he has left his mark on the school! Hojun is an incredibly bubbly student who has undoubtedly made friends from all around the globe. Hojun is very active in the school life, attending most of the weekly activities in his time here. We will miss Hojun greatly, however we hope to still see him around as he will be staying on the Sunshine Coast for a while longer. All the best in the future Hojun!
Manon has only been with us for a month but what a wonderful month it has been! Manon is an active participant in class and always has a smile for the other students and staff. Manon finished up her time here at our fitness class this afternoon – leaving it all out on the mat. Manon is plannin to stick around for a week before she starts her epic, month-long road trip down to Sydney where she will stay for a week before flying home to Switzerland. We are truly sad to see Manon go but we know she will achieve great things on the road ahead.
Santiago and Gabriela from our Cambridge Focus class!
We are so sad to be saying goodbye to Santiago. He has been at Lexis for 6 months and in that time he has made amazing friends and wonderful memories. Santiago is a kind student whose English mastery has grown exponentially over his time here. Santiago, we’ve loved watching your English grow and your confidence shine over these past months. While we’re sad to see you go, we’re so proud of everything you’ve achieved and excited for what comes next on your journey.
We are also incredibly sad to see Gabriela go! Gabriela started with us in July last year in the beginner class and she has since worked her way all the way up to our Advanced level Cambridge Focus class. We are in awe of Gabriela’s perseverance and motivation and will miss her greatly. Gabriela is one of the sweetest students I have ever met and she is incredibly smart too! Gabriela is now headed off to Switzerland where she will begin to learn German before going on to further studies!
Last but not least we have Malou from our IELTS Preparation class!
Malou has been with us for about 6 months as well and in that time, she has spread true joy and positivity to everyone around her. Malou is an incredibly dedicated student who should be immensely proud of herself and the effort she has put into her studies here at Lexis. Malou is always smiling and never fails to express her true care for the people around her. Malou is now going to travel the East Coast of Australia before returning to Switzerland. We will miss Malou and her positive energy so much and we wish her all the very best in her future!
We’ll miss each of you dearly and hope you carry unforgettable memories of your time at Lexis wherever life takes you next. Don’t forget to keep in touch!
