We decided to create a custom quiz full of questions about Australian history, pop culture, geography, and wildlife – after all, Australia is a vast and diverse land, so the trivia could cover a lot of ground.
The trivia was fast-paced and fun, with each question challenging everyone’s knowledge of Australia. Who knew that the largest living organism on Earth was the Great Barrier Reef? Or that Vegemite (an iconic Aussie spread) is made from brewer’s yeast extract? As the points stacked up, the atmosphere was filled with friendly banter, laughter, and just a bit of competitive spirit.
Some questions were tricky, especially when it came to Australian slang. Who could forget the meanings behind “bogan” and “chook”? It was a great reminder that Aussies have a language all their own, and understanding it can make your experience in Australia even more fun.

With a final score tally, one person stood out as the champion, but honestly, everyone was a winner. Camilla, our wonderful student from Brazil ended up coming out on top, winning herself a wonderful Australian flag hat! The afternoon wasn’t just about the trivia (though the questions were fun); it was about enjoying good company, tasty snacks, and learning a little something new about Australia.
We wrapped up the afternoon with some casual conversations, perhaps planning a trip to Australia or sharing stories of our favorite Aussie TV shows and movies. The snacks were nearly gone, the trivia buzz still fresh in our minds, and everyone had a big smile on their face.
