Bowling

Bowling is a popular recreational sport enjoyed by millions of people worldwide. It is a game that involves rolling a ball down a lane in an attempt to knock down a set of pins. It can be played casually for fun or competitively in leagues and tournaments.

The origins of bowling can be traced back thousands of years to ancient civilizations such as Egypt and Rome. The modern form of bowling that we are familiar with today emerged in the mid-19th century in the United States. Over the years, the game has evolved, and various styles and techniques have developed.

The objective of bowling is to knock down as many pins as possible in each frame. A standard game consists of ten frames, and players typically have two chances, or rolls, to knock down all the pins in each frame. If all the pins are knocked down with the first ball, it is called a strike. If some pins are left standing after the first roll, the player gets a second chance to knock them down. If all the pins are knocked down with the second ball, it is called a spare. The score is calculated based on the number of pins knocked down in each frame.

Bowling is not only a recreational activity but also a sport that can be highly competitive. Many countries have national bowling associations and host professional bowling tournaments. The Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) in the United States is one of the most well-known organizations for professional bowlers.
