Our first pickleball session was a big hit, giving students a fun and active way to reconnect after class. For many, it was their first time trying the sport, so we started by learning the basics—how to hold the paddle, how to serve and the simple scoring system that makes pickleball easy to pick up. There were plenty of laughs as everyone figured out the rules together, especially during those early rallies where the ball seemed to have a mind of its own.
One of the best parts of the session was the location. Playing right in the heart of the city at Brookfield Place made the experience feel a little extra special. Surrounded by tall buildings and the buzz of workers heading to lunch or passing by, the court had a unique atmosphere you don’t get at a normal sports centre.
