Welcome back to a brand-new year at Lexis and a very happy 2026 to all our returning and new students!
We hope you enjoyed a well-deserved break, whether you spent it travelling, relaxing with friends, or simply taking time for yourself. A new year always brings a sense of fresh energy and campus already feels brighter with everyone returning, sharing holiday stories and settling back into routines.
January is one of our favourite times of the year. The weather is warm, the days are long and Perth has that relaxed summer feeling that makes it easy to enjoy both studying and exploring. Many students arrive with new goals such as improving English, preparing for further study, finding work or making new friends and the first weeks of the year are a perfect moment to set those intentions. Our teachers and staff are ready to support you, and there are plenty of activities coming up to help you connect, practise and ease back into study life.
If you’re looking for things to do in Perth over the next few months, you’re in luck. Summer and early autumn are full of opportunities to get outside and enjoy the city. Kings Park is always a favourite place to relax, walk or have a picnic while enjoying some of the best views in Western Australia. The beaches are at their best this time of year too: Cottesloe, Scarborough and City Beach are perfect for swimming, watching the surf or catching a sunset with friends.
Perth also comes alive with outdoor events during the first half of the year. You’ll find night markets, live music, open-air cinemas and food festivals happening across the city and its suburbs. Even just taking a walk through Elizabeth Quay or along the South Perth foreshore in the evening can be a great way to unwind after class. If you feel like exploring further, Rottnest Island, Fremantle and the Swan Valley make easy weekend trips and offer a mix of beaches, culture and great food.
For those who prefer quieter activities, Perth’s museums, galleries and libraries are perfect for escaping the heat while practising English in a relaxed way. As we step into 2026 together, we’re excited for everything the year has in store; new experiences, new friendships and plenty of chances to learn and grow.
