Looking for your next weekend adventure? Do you want to experience big-city energy, busy streets, nightlife, shopping, restaurants, events and that feeling of being somewhere completely different?

The good news? Brisbane is much closer than you might think!

From Noosa, Brisbane is an easy weekend trip away, meaning you can enjoy the best of both worlds. You can spend your weekdays enjoying life in Noosa and then head to the city for the weekend without needing to organise an expensive flight or a complicated trip.

Whether you want to explore the city, go shopping, experience Brisbane’s nightlife, visit museums and galleries, try new restaurants, meet people at a hostel, or simply spend a weekend somewhere completely different, Brisbane has something for you.

I’ve put together this guide to make planning your trip as easy as possible. You’ll find everything you need to know, including how to get from Noosa to Brisbane, where to stay, what to do, and tips for making the most of your weekend.

This past weekend, a group of Students went to Brisbane for the AFL Grand Final (and Brisbane won!). Brisbane is an incredible place to experience a change of scenery, but how do you make it happen? Here’s all the info you could need.

TRANSPORT:

Car (2 hours): The quickest way to get to Brisbane is by car. You could either rent a car through Avis Car Rentals or Budget Australia, or book an Uber to take you directly into the city.

Shuttle (3.5 hours): There are plenty of Shuttle options that can pick you up from your house and then drop you off in the heart of Brisbane.

Bus (2.5 hours): One of the cheapest options is booking a FlixBus from Noosa to Brisbane.

Train (3 hours): The cheapest option is catching a train to Brisbane. The trains here are only 50cents a ride!! You would need to catch a bus to the nearest train station (Cooroy or Nambour) and then hop on a train to Brisbane.

ACCOMMODATION:

There are plenty of accommodation options in Brisbane. Whether you want to stay in a buzzing hostel or a bougie hotel, there are many to choose from!!

Recommended websites for booking include Booking.com, Hostelworld, and Trivago.

WHAT TO DO:

It’s easy to feel overwhelmed with choices when visiting a big city. Here are some of my top picks of things to do whilst you’re visiting Brisbane:

– Walk along the Brisbane River

– Brisbane Story Bridge Climb (look at Lexis Travel for more info)

– Brisbane River Kayak (look at Lexis Travel for more info)

– Shopping at Westfield Chermside

– Dinner on Eat Street

– Evening drinks at The Terrace Rooftop Bar
