Celebrating Love this Valentine’s Day with a Wine and Chocolate Tasting

Last week at Lexis Noosa, love was definitely in the air as we celebrated Valentine’s Day with an afternoon of wine and chocolate tasting. It was the perfect to unwind on a Friday afternoon after a busy week of English classes and a great way to bring in the weekend.
On offer were a deliciously sweet Moscato, a crisp, dry Rose and a deep, rich Shiraz, which were all Australian-made. For the chocolate, we ventured for a selection of Lindt chocolate as recommended by our strong Swiss contingent. We tried an almond chocolate, orange flavoured, mint-infused and one was slightly salted. Each chocolate was a perfect match for the wines on offer and went down a treat.

The students took charge of the speakers and put on a playlist that perfectly characterised Valentine’s Day and the atmosphere was electric. Everyone mingled, sipped their wine and sampled their chocolate and it was the perfect way to put their new English skills to practice as they chatted the afternoon away.
To celebrate Valentine’s Day, there was also a local community arts project, LOVE Junction around the corner from the campus, in which local businesses and restaurants hosted a pop-up market. The street was decorated with heart decorations, many of which were produced by the students earlier in the year. Below are some pictures of the finished project which has injected life and love into our local area!
