A fun-filled second week for our TAP students
At Lexis Noosa, for our TAP students learning English is just part of the experience—our students also enjoy an exciting lineup of activities that showcase the best of Noosa and Australian culture. Here’s a recap of what we got up to in our action-packed second week!
Monday: Cricket on the Beach and Ice Cream Treats
We kicked off the week with a classic Aussie pastime—beach cricket! We made our way over to the iconic Hastings Street and the beach, ready for some friendly competition and some fun in the sun. With the sound of waves crashing in the background, we enjoyed a game filled with laughter, teamwork, and plenty of diving catches. After the match, we strolled to Royal Copenhagen to cool down with delicious, locally made ice cream. It was the perfect way to start the week.
Tuesday: Surf’s Up!
Noosa’s world-famous waves provided the ideal setting for our 3rd surfing session. Guided by experienced instructors, students of all levels grabbed their boards and paddled out to catch some waves. The sun was beaming throughout the session making the perfect conditions to practice surfing. It was great fun catching some waves and wiping out!
Wednesday: Boomerang Painting
Midweek creativity came alive with a boomerang painting workshop. Students learned about the cultural significance of boomerangs in indigenous traditions before designing and painting their own. With some music on in the background, the vibrant colors and intricate patterns began to emerge. Everyone left with a unique piece of art and a deeper appreciation for Australia’s Indigenous heritage.
Thursday: Back to the Surf
With the thrill of Tuesday’s waves still fresh, our TAP students couldn’t wait to hit the water again. Another day of surfing brought more progress, confidence, and fun. Only our 4th session and the group now surf like the pros! The conditions on Thursday were the best yet with wave after wave helping our students perfect their new skills.
Friday: Tasting Australian Flavors
We wrapped up the week with an Australian food-tasting session, introducing our TAP students to some iconic local flavours. From Vegemite on crackers to lamingtons and meat pies, the experience was both adventurous and delicious. Watching students’ reactions to Vegemite was a highlight—some loved it, while others were less convinced! Nothing divides a nation like Vegemite does! It was such a fun way to introduce our TAP students to the diverse range of Aussie snacks.
