An afternoon Stand-Up Paddleboarding on the Noosa River
Last Friday, a group from Lexis Noosa made the short trip over the hill to Boardwalk Boat Hire, where we hired stand-up paddleboards to take a leisurely trip down the beautiful Noosa river.
For many of us, it was our first experience of one of Australia’s favourite hobbies but fortunately, within an hour or two you can become nice and comfortable out on the water. The team at Boardwalk Boat Hire gave us a quick demo and some tips and then it was time to get out on the water.
The sun was shining for us and we set off from Hastings street and paddled all the way to the bridge into Noosaville. As we paddled along, we took in the glorious scenery of the riverbanks and the amazing architecture of the waterfront houses on display. We also saw some of the biggest jellyfish ever bobbing along!
It wasn’t long before the more competitive amongst us started racing and showing off their new paddleboarding skills.
Of course, we had our fair share of wobbly moments too and just about everybody fell in at some point.
It was a picturesque afternoon with the sun starting to dip and glow on the horizon, with boats, kayakers and other keen paddleboarders adding to the serenity of the scene.
For anyone visiting Noosa, this is a must-do activity to create some truly unforgettable memories of your time in one of the most beautiful locations.
