Noosa – Irma’s Australian Adventure – 3rd May

 

Upon her arrival in Australia, Irma was greeted with warmth and enthusiasm by the Dundee Adventure team. Despite her initial nervousness, their well-organized itinerary immediately put her at ease. As she embarked on her 14-day journey, she found herself immersed in the beauty and culture of this vast land.

Irma’s first stop was the Whitsundays, where she embarked on a thrilling fly and raft package arranged by Dundee. Flying over the Great Barrier Reef, she marvelled at the breathtaking beauty of one of the world’s natural wonders. Then, Ocean rafting over to Whitehaven Beach while stopping at the breathtaking Hill Inlet, she then spent hours soaking in the sun-kissed shores and turquoise waters, a moment of tranquility amidst her adventurous journey.

From the Whitsundays, Irma ventured north to Cairns, where she immersed herself in the rich cultural tapestry of the region. The Kuranda ‘Grand’ Tour offered her a glimpse into the wonders of the World Heritage Rainforest, where she embarked on an exhilarating Army Duck tour and encountered native wildlife at the Koala & Wildlife Park. The Pamagirri Aboriginal Experience provided insight into the ancient traditions of the indigenous people, while a visit to the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary added a touch of magic to her journey.

In Cairns, Irma also explored the wonders of the underwater world at the aquarium, marveled at the architectural beauty of St. Monica’s Cathedral, and found serenity amidst the lush greenery of the botanical gardens during a city sights tour.

From Cairns, Irma’s journey continued to Brisbane, where she found herself enchanted by the dynamic energy of the city. Exploring its vibrant streets and engaging with the locals, she discovered a sense of warmth and hospitality that made her feel right at home.

Then to Sydney, with its iconic harbor and bustling city streets, was the perfect finale to Irma’s Australian adventure. From exploring the historic landmarks to hiking the majestic Blue Mountains where she was able to take part of the sun setting, every moment was filled with wonder and awe.

But it wasn’t just the organized tours that left an impact on Irma. Throughout her journey, she found moments of connection and serendipity that added depth to her experience. “Yes, thank you, it was great. The 14 days were well planned. I had enough time at each location to arrive and orient myself. And also time to explore the city alone,” Irma remarked, reflecting on her journey. “For example, I sat in a rather secluded park next to an old man on a bench and talked with him. I got a private concert in a small church in the middle of the city and spoke with the Aboriginal musicians about their lives. It was great. Thank you very much for your planning and support.”

As Irma bid farewell to Australia and embarked on her journey back to Switzerland, she carried with her memories that would last a lifetime. Thanks to the meticulous planning and support from Dundee Adventure Travel, her Australian adventure had been everything she had dreamed of and more.
