Noosa – Eumundi Markets and Aussie BBQ for our Cambridge Students – 13th April

Lately, our lovely Cambridge students have been getting out and about with their teachers and experiencing more of what Noosa and its surrounds has to offer.

Last Thursday, our 3 Cambridge classes had a delicious BBQ in the park to celebrate the end of the week and start of their Easter long weekend. The teachers organized a typical Aussie barbie (barbeque) that included beef and vegetarian snags (sausages), onion and bread. To go with it, there were sides of coleslaw, tabouli, leafy greens and of course Easter Eggs. The students were stoked to have spent their Thursday afternoon in the park whilst listening to music and kicking the ball around. There was also a surprise visit from 2 ‘Easter Bunnies’ that hopped around giving every student an egg.

Luckily for us her at Lexis Noosa, our beautiful local park is only a short 5-minute walk from our campus. We often have activities in this park like picnics, games, yoga and of course BBQ’s.

Yesterday, our Cambridge teachers took their students to the famous Eumundi Markets! These markets are held every Wednesday and Friday and were established back in 1979, attracting visitors from all around the world. Eumundi markets offer a wide variety of handmade and locally sourced goods, including crafts, clothing, jewelry, homewares, and fresh produce. There are also numerous food stalls and live entertainment, making it a vibrant and lively atmosphere.

Our teachers and students hopped on a bus departing Noosa and travelled approximately 20km south-west to the township of Eumundi. It’s a great way for our Cambridge students to explore more of the Noosa Shire and to get them interacting with other Australians outside of Lexis. It builds their confidence listening and speaking in English in a fun and lively environment.

The students have been having a great time seeing and doing more things around Noosa. Next week, the teachers are taking their Cambridge students on a sunset boat cruise which is extremely exciting! We can’t wait to see their adventures continue and to hear all about it.
