This afternoon’s student activity was a beautiful walk through the famous Noosa National Park!
This afternoon, Skyla led a group of our students from our campus to Noosa National Park for a relaxing afternoon stroll. The weather was perfect as the sun was shining and had a light, off-shore wind to keep us cool whilst walking. Noosa National Park is a very special place. It’s a popular destination for both locals and tourists alike, with its breathtaking landscapes, pristine beaches, crystal-clear waters, and diverse flora and fauna.
Our students walked along the most popular track called the ‘Coastal Track’. This 10.8 kilometer trail is a must-do for anyone visiting the area and takes hikers along the coastline of the National Park. The trail is well-maintained and relatively easy, making it accessible for hikers of all levels. It offers incredible beaches, rockpools, views of the ocean, rugged cliffs and the surrounding landscape.
The National Park covers an area of approximately 4,000 hectares and is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including koalas, kangaroos, echidnas and a vast array of bird and reptile species. The park’s coastal location also means that visitors are often treated to the sight of whales, dolphins and turtles playing in the waters just off the coast.
As we were walking along the trail, we even spotted a very iconic Australian bird in the trees, a kookaburra!
Although our students didn’t get to complete the whole walk, they were mesmerized by the stunning beaches and lookout points they did get to see. They said they’ll be back at some point and hopefully will be able to spot some dolphins or koalas on their next trip. Noosa National Park is a truly special place that offers a unique blend of natural beauty, history, and adventure. Whether you’re a nature lover, history buff, or adrenaline junkie, there’s something for everyone to enjoy and we are so lucky to have it right on our doorstep.
