Noosa – Rainy Everglades Serenity Tour – 16th February

Embark on a journey through the untouched beauty of the Noosa Everglades aboard the renowned ‘Serenity’ boat cruise!

Nestled within the Cooloola region of the Great Sandy National Park, the Noosa Everglades, known as the “River of Mirrors,” is a rare gem waiting to be discovered. As one of only two Everglades on the planet, this hidden paradise boasts a plethora of unique features. Its diverse ecosystem harbors over 40% of Australia’s bird species and serves as a vital sanctuary for iconic wildlife.

The Everglades present a pristine wilderness characterized by crystal-clear waters meandering through ancient tea tree forests and floating lily pads. This landscape, unchanged for millennia, stands as a testament to the enduring beauty of Queensland’s natural heritage.

Connecting the Northern River system of the Sunshine Coast, the Everglades features a mesmerizing network of waterways and wetlands, making it an essential destination for any adventurer. Recently, a group of Lexis students had the incredible opportunity to immerse themselves in this awe-inspiring wonderland during the Serenity Tour. Their experience left them spellbound and deeply connected to the wonders of the natural world.

Upon arrival, they eagerly stepped onto the boat and ventured across Lake Cootharaba, immersing themselves in the breathtaking scenery of the Everglades. Despite the rain, the students were captivated by the serene waters and lush surroundings.

As the boat smoothly glided through the tranquil, rainy waters, the students were treated to a mesmerizing display of nature’s beauty. The informative commentary provided by the tour guide offered them valuable insights into the unique ecosystem of the Everglades, enhancing their appreciation for the natural world.

Amidst the journey, students had the opportunity to unwind and indulge in a complimentary glass of locally brewed champagne or beer from Eco Brewery. The brewery’s commitment to using water sourced from the Cooloola Sandmass Sub-Artesian basin, filtered over 75 years through sand and gravel, highlighted their dedication to sustainability and quality. This attention to detail added an extra layer of enjoyment to the experience, despite the extremely, damp weather.

As the mirrored surface of the water reflected the surrounding forests and sky, creating a surreal and enchanting atmosphere, the spirits of the students remained high, undampened by the rain.
