Last week was an Action Packed Week of Fun Activities at Lexis Noosa!
For our students, it’s important to unwind during a week of English learning and our activity programme is the best way to do so. Every week, we do activities together on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to showcase the best of what life in Noosa is like. Our activities range from arts and crafts to watersports and from karaoke to yoga, with a whole load of Aussie culture thrown in there too. Here’s a glimpse of what activities we got up to last week:
Wednesday’s Activity – Surf Lesson at Noosa Main Beach!
Noosa is famous for it’s long waves and surf lifestyle, and is the perfect place for surfer’s of all levels and experience! A group of us made the short trip to Noosa Main Beach, where we were lucky enough to have a surf lesson with Learn to Surf Noosa. The instructors are incredible, and they guarantee you’ll stand on a wave in your first ever lesson too!
After some time perfecting our technique on the sand, we took to the waves and put our new found skills into action. Within minutes, everyone was able to pop up on their board and catch some waves. Surfing in Australia is a true bucket list item and this one has been ticked off by many of our students now. With the skills they’ve now got, they can head out into the surf to keep practicing while they’re here in Noosa!
Thursday’s Activity – Tie Dye T-Shirt Making
What goes hand in hand with surf culture is a bit of tie-dye! The students were able to make their very own t-shirt in the style they wanted and take it home to keep as a memory of their time in Australia’s best beach town!
The creativity was flowing and the students have been rocking their awesome new t-shirts around the campus!
Friday’s Activity – Noosa Chocolate Factory & Land and Sea Brewery Trip
Over in Noosaville, there is a whole host of local businesses that cater for every need. We made the short trip from school over to the Noosa Chocolate Factory to take in the master chocolatiers doing their work as well as buy some delicious locally made chocolate. They also do great coffee and hot chocolate too!
After that, we crossed the road to visit the first brewery in Noosa: Land & Sea Brewery! Making delicious craft beer, gin, whiskey and rum, everybody can get a taste of some delicious thirst quenchers! With some great food on offer and a strong merch game too, the brewery is an awesome place to spend a Friday afternoon and bring in the weekend!
