Last week was an Action Packed Week of Fun Activities at Lexis Noosa!
For our students, it’s important to unwind during a week of English learning and our activity programme is the best way to do so. Every week, we do activities together on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to showcase the best of what life in Noosa is like. Our activities range from arts and crafts to watersports and from karaoke to yoga, with a whole load of Aussie culture thrown in there too. Here’s a glimpse of what activities we got up to last week:
Wednesday’s Activity – A Trip to Noosa Chocolate Factory and Land & Sea Brewery
On Wednesday, we made the short trip into Noosaville, to the industrial estate, which is thriving with local business and hidden gems. Every street has amazing venues to offer, such as breweries, cafes, op shops and fitness studios. We visited Noosa Chocolate Factory, who produce delicious chocolate using local ingredients. We browsed the different chocolates and tried their delicious hot chocolates too. The store is beautifully set up and you can even peer through the window to the factory and see the master chocolatiers perfecting their craft.
Once we had satisfied our sweet tooth, we crossed the road to visit Land and Sea Brewery, one of the first breweries established on the Sunshine Coast and a favourite for locals. They produce their own beers and spirits on site and they serve some great Aussie favourites too like a parmi and fish and chips. We sampled their beers and gins and browsed their merchandise and chatted the afternoon away, enjoying the vibe.
Thursday’s Activity – Pizza and Ping Pong Tournament
One of our favourite pass times here at Lexis Noosa is the ping pong table. As soon as class is over, we swarm to the table to play a few games and share a few laughs. On Thursday, we fuelled up with some pizza that we ordered in and threw our names in a hat to organise a table tennis tournament, where there were prizes for the winner. A box of favourites for first place, a toblerone which was highly sought after by our Swiss students and two packets of Tim Tams for 3rd place. It was great fun for all abilities as we introduced the “Second Life” mini tournament. Those that weren’t fortunate enough to win their first game got to play a mini tournament to get a second bite of the cherry! Some of our students have vast table tennis experience and the skills on show were incredible to watch. Congratulations to Kohnosuke, our champion, and Kevin and Jan, our runners up.
