Last week was an Action Packed Week of Fun Activities at Lexis Noosa!
For our students, it’s important to unwind during a week of English learning and our activity programme is the best way to do so. Every week, we do activities together on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to showcase the best of what life in Noosa is like. Our activities range from arts and crafts to watersports and from karaoke to yoga, with a whole load of Aussie culture thrown in there too. Here’s a glimpse of what activities we got up to last week:
Wednesday’s Activity – Koala wildlife presentation!
On Wednesday, we were joined once again by Ben from D’Aguilar Wildlife! Once again, he put on a fantastic show in which the student’s could get up close and personal with some of Australia’s best loved wildlife. The animals Ben brought with him included a bearded dragon, a blue tongued lizard, an echidna, a bilby, a crocodile, a glider, a carpet python and a koala called Rosie! It was an unforgettable experience and definitely one to write home about for our students. Our students come from all over the world and for many it’s a bucket list item to meet and interact with some Australian wildlife and they were fortunate enough to do that right here in their own classroom!
Thursday’s Activity – Laguna Lookout hike!
After classes on Thursday, we made the short walk to the Noosa National Park to go and take in the breathtaking view at Laguna Lookout, where you can gaze over the bay and admire the scenery. It’s always a peaceful walk and a great way to relax and unwind after a busy week of English classes. The view never disappoints and the walk through the national park is incredibly tranquil too.
Friday’s Activity – Pub quiz and Happy Hour at The Culinary Academy!
To bring in the weekend, we had our very own Lexis pub quiz, testing our student’s knowledge on Noosa and Australia! We enjoyed an ice cold beer as we pondered over the answers and shared our knowledge and experience of Australia so far.
The prize for the winning team was a free cocktail at The Culinary Academy, where after the quiz, we wandered round the corner to enjoy their happy hour. We were served by students from our English classes that were gaining the valuable hospitality experience to find work in Noosa and beyond and it was great to bring in the weekend together in such a fun environment!
