Last week was an Action Packed Week of Fun Activities at Lexis Noosa!
For our students, it’s important to unwind during a week of English learning and our activity programme is the best way to do so. Every week, we do activities together on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to showcase the best of what life in Noosa is like. Our activities range from arts and crafts to watersports and from karaoke to yoga, with a whole load of Aussie culture thrown in there too. Here’s a glimpse of what activities we got up to last week:
Wednesday’s Activity – Football Fun!
Our students kicked things off by heading to Lions Park for a friendly (but competitive!) game of football in the sunshine as well as learning how to play cricket! Everyone brought great energy and team spirit, making it the perfect way to experience one of Australia’s favourite sports as well as showing off their football skills.
Thursday’s Activity – Clay Model Making!
After class on Thursday, our students got creative by making clay models using air-dry clay. With some tips and tricks for the different techniques they could use, along with some prompts for inspiration, everyone got stuck in to create small bowls, trays and figurines. There were some seriously talented ceramicists and it was great to see what each person came up with. Many were Noosa/Australia themed, such as koala’s, surf boards and hearts that said ‘Noosa’. Others went down the practical route, making jewellery trays and cups. It was a relaxing Thursday afternoon and a great way to practice our new English skills.
Friday’s Activity – Cocktail & Mocktail Masterclass!
To bring in the weekend, after class on Friday, we had a cocktail and mocktail masterclass to learn how to make some classic cocktails or some delicious mocktails. Some of our students have completed the Bar & Cocktail course that we offer, and so they were excellent teachers to help those that were making cocktails for the very first time. The good vibes were flowing as we sampled a taster of a variety of different cocktails, such as a margarita and espresso martini, the Japanese slipper and a dark and stormy.
