Last week was an Action Packed Week of Fun Activities at Lexis Noosa!
For our students, it’s important to unwind during a week of English learning and our activity programme is the best way to do so. Every week, we do activities together on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to showcase the best of what life in Noosa is like. Our activities range from arts and crafts to watersports and from karaoke to yoga, with a whole load of Aussie culture thrown in there too. Here’s a glimpse of what activities we got up to last week:
Friday’s Activity – International Picnic!
On Friday, we took the opportunity to celebrate the diversity of our students, who travel from all over the world to come and study English here in Noosa. We gathered in the communal area after classes to enjoy an international picnic and feast on the cuisine of our different home nations.
Chiara is from France and she brought a delicious quiche accompanied by some white wine. In France, a picnic and wine go hand in hand and Chiara definitely delivered on this one!
From Taiwan, Remy and Jolene provided everyone with some sumptious prawn dumplings and delicious Taiwanese passionfruit tea and guava juice. To satisfy the sweet tooth we also got to try some pineapple cake.
From Japan, Yuzuki, Taka, Seira, Rena, Ayane and Yuki provided a wide variety of treats both sweet and savoury. We got to enjoy onigiri, okonomiyaki, ramen, miso soup, pocky and matcha chocolate.
Finally, from Brazil, Gabriela, Marina and Nic brought a mountain of cashew nuts as well as brigadeiro, a delicious sweet treat made of cacao and condensed milk.
It was truly incredible to see the time, effort and consideration each student had put into the food and drinks they brought and it was a wonderful experience. To see each student proudly describe their favourite native dishes to their friends from around the world made for a perfect Friday afternoon picnic.
