Last week was an Action Packed Week of Fun Activities at Lexis Noosa!
For our students, it’s important to unwind during a week of English learning and our activity programme is the best way to do so. Every week, we do activities together on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to showcase the best of what life in Noosa is like. Our activities range from arts and crafts to watersports and from karaoke to yoga, with a whole load of Aussie culture thrown in there too. Here’s a glimpse of what activities we got up to last week:
Wednesday’s Activity – Aussie Food Tasting
After class on Wednesday we tried the best (and worst) of Aussie food! Always a hugely popular activity, we sampled an 8 course taster menu of some good old Aussie snacks. We started with Shapes, party pies and sausage rolls and vegemite on toast. We then followed up with some dessert in the form of Anzac biscuits, Tim Tams, Fairy Bread and Lamingtons. It’s always great to introduce the students to some Australian favourites and compare and contrast to their favourite snacks from home.

Thursday’s Activity – Origami Workshop
On Thursday we stayed at school and our Senior Teacher Natalie took the students through some tricky origami patterns. They were able to create beautiful and intricate flowers through their precise and meticulous folding skills. There was much to be admired and it was a peaceful and tranquil Thursday afternoon.

Friday’s Activity – Noosa National Park Walk
On Friday, we made the short trip to Hastings Street to trek through Noosa’s National Park. It’s always great to get our steps in, breathe that fresh sea air and walk through nature, keeping an eye out for Australia’s host of creepy crawlies. We were lucky enough to see a huge gonna as well as a cute little baby python! We looked out to sea in search of turtles and dolphins but all we got this time was the beautiful panoramic view of the sea!
