Recent activities at Lexis Noosa!
At Lexis Noosa, studying English is just one part of the experience. Students have recently been taking part in a range of activities that combine adventure, culture, and social connection. From time in the ocean to creative workshops and local food experiences, these moments are all about enjoying Noosa, meeting new people, and building confidence outside the classroom.
Surf Lesson at Noosa Main Beach!
Our teenage students recently headed down to Noosa Main Beach for their first surf lesson. After going through the basics on land, they moved into the water to put their new skills to the test.
With lots of excitement and determination, everyone gave surfing a go — and all students were able to get up on their boards and catch waves. It was a fun and rewarding session, full of encouragement, achievement, and plenty of memorable moments in the ocean.
Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUP) on Noosa River!
Students enjoyed a beautiful afternoon out on the Noosa River trying stand-up paddleboarding in calm, perfect conditions. Everyone jumped straight on their boards and did really well from the start, gliding across the water with confidence.
It was a fun and relaxed session, full of laughter, great scenery, and a nice way to enjoy the outdoors together.
Boomerang Painting!
Students also took part in a creative boomerang painting session, designing their own patterns inspired by Indigenous Australian art. Each boomerang turned out completely unique, with lots of colour, creativity, and focus throughout the activity.
It was a calm and enjoyable session that gave students a chance to express themselves while learning a little more about Australian culture.
Aussie Food Tasting!
Students also enjoyed a very popular afternoon activity, trying a variety of typical Aussie foods while picking up some local slang along the way—like “G’day mate,” “arvo,” “sunnies,” and “yeah nah”.
A big highlight was the excitement of trying Vegemite for the first time, which led to plenty of funny reactions, curiosity, and lots of laughter!
