Welcome to our thirteen new students joining us at Lexis Byron Bay this week!
Ji Yeon is from South Korea and has given herself the English name of Rachel as people find this easier to say! She plays Tae-Gun-Do and the traditional Korean instrument Jung-Gli. She is currently majoring in Chemistry and enjoys doing the experiments! She is looking forward to making new friends from all over the world here at Lexis Byron Bay!
Sandra is from Switzerland and lives near Bern, in the German part. She works as a nurse there. After she leaves Australia she will go to France for 6 weeks to learn French. She choose to come to Australia to study English because it’s a beautiful country and she would like to travel after she has finished her 2 months studying at Lexis!
Paloma is from Spain and loves to play the trumpet and listen to music. In Spain she has studied Interior Design and Wedding Planning. She chose to study English in Byron Bay so she can also learn to surf! In the future she would like to travel more and become a wedding planner!
Leonardo is from Brazil and was born in Rio De Janiero. In his spare time he enjoys going to the beach, surfing and playing ‘Altinha’ with his friends. He has studied hotelary and worked in a famous hotel in Rio. He wants to improve his English so he can get a better job when he goes back to Brazil!
Thomas is from Italy and enjoys going out with his friends and playing on his computer. His main passion is swimming and he trains every day for about 3 hours. He wants to improve his English so he can study to become an airline pilot; he has already studied aeronautics and has a private pilot license!
Leo is from Switzerland and lives with his mother, who’s Spanish, and father, who’s French, as well as his brother and sister. He has a passion for reptiles, specifically snakes. He has just graduated from high school in Geneva and is now on his gap year. He chose to study in Australia because of the the sun and beautiful nature!
Gina is from Switzerland and enjoys going to the cinema and writing. He graduated from school last June and will move to Germany when he returns from Australia to continue his studies in cinema school. He needs to improve his English as the cinema school classes are held in English. He chose to study in Australia because of the beaches, wildlife and chilled vibes!
Michael is from Austria. He studied Economics Science and Industrial Management and works as a Technical Engineer for heat treatment services. He completed the Cambridge Course 6 years ago, but as he hasn’t been using English every day he feels he has lost his skills, and that is why he is now here studying with us at Lexis! He chose to study in Byron Bay because of the beautiful surroundings and surf!
Anna is from Germany and enjoys meeting up with friends and going to dance classes. In winter she also likes to spend a lot of her time snowboarding. Her biggest passion though is travelling, meeting new people and getting to know different cultures. She currently works as an Air Traffic Controller and is here at Lexis Byron Bay to improve her English for this job!
Angel is from Spain and likes skiing, surfing and football. He’s also interested in science and is currently studying medicine so he can become a surgeon. He has been to every English speaking country except Australia so that is why he chose to come here and study! He is looking forward to discovering new places and meeting new people!
Junghyo is from Korea and has given herself the English name Julie. She enjoys listening to music and discovering new songs. She is currently majoring in English language and literature at university in Korea and chose to come to Australia to study at Lexis so she can learn to speak English more naturally!
Lisa is from Switzerland and enjoys sports, including gymnastics and skiing in the winter. She is currently on her gap year and just spent 3 months in Hamburg learning German and is now here with us at Lexis for 3 months. After she completes her studies here she would like to go to university and study International Relation; she would like to improve her English for this reason and also because it will then be easier for her to speak to people from lots of different countries!
Yuna is from Korea and enjoys meeting up with friends and watching dramas. She is majoring in Industrial Engineering. She chose to study in Byron Bay because it’s a beautiful place and she is looking forward to meeting lots of new people from around the world!
