Today, the Lexis Perth community came together to support Jeans for Genes Day, with students and staff proudly wearing their favourite pair of jeans and donating a gold coin to this incredible cause.
To make the day even more special, our students also brought along a plate of food to share, and everyone enjoyed a delicious morning tea together while raising awareness and funds for children living with genetic diseases and birth defects.
Thanks to the generosity of our students and staff, we raised $145.80. Even better, every dollar donated today has been doubled, meaning our contribution will have twice the impact.
Every year, 1 in 20 children are born with a birth defect or genetic disease—that’s 12 children every minute worldwide. These conditions include childhood cancers, cystic fibrosis, and rare metabolic disorders. Funds raised through Jeans for Genes Day help the scientists at Children’s Medical Research Institute continue their vital research to develop better treatments and, ultimately, cures.
We are incredibly proud of our Lexis Perth community for supporting such a meaningful cause. Thank you to everyone who wore their jeans, donated, and contributed to our shared morning tea. Together, we’ve helped make a real difference for children and families affected by genetic diseases.
