Lexis Brisbane – Brissie to the Bay – 14.06.23

The Brissie to the Bay bike race has been a fixture of the Brisbane cycling scene for more than three decades and is a favourite of many family and friend groups, business organisations, and seasoned riders. The ride is more than just a fun day out on the bike; thousands of inspiring riders participate to raise money that is essential to improving the lives of the thousands of Queenslanders who suffer from Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and other neurological disorders.

On Sunday, our very own Campus Manager, Trent, and teacher Luke rose to the challenge and completed the grueling 100km cycling event. Trent and Luke have been at Lexis Brisbane for many years, and both share a passion for cycling. So, when they heard about the Brisbane to Bay race, they were excited to enter and take on the challenge as Team Lexis. After months of intense training, they were ready to navigate the challenging course.

B2B End

The first leg of the race was relatively flat and easy, with the cyclists making good time and enjoying the beautiful scenery along the way. However, things quickly became more challenging as they entered the hilly terrain leading up to the halfway point. Despite the challenging terrain, they continued to push on, spurred by the encouragement of the other cyclists on the course and the knowledge that they were doing something meaningful and important. Finally, after more than four hours on the bike, Trent and Luke crossed the finish line together, triumphant and exhausted but full of pride and a sense of accomplishment. They had completed the 100 km course and raised a significant amount of money for MS research and support services, all while pushing themselves to their limits and achieving something truly remarkable.

B2B RouteParticipating in an event like the Brisbane to Bay race requires a tremendous amount of discipline, dedication, and hard work, and both Trent and Luke exemplify these qualities in everything they do. Their willingness to take on a challenging task for a good cause is a testament to their leadership and character and serves as an inspiration to others who may be looking for ways to make a difference in their community. Their tenacity and resilience in the face of intense challenges serve as a reminder that anything is possible with the right attitude and approach.

We are so proud to have Trent and Luke as part of our Lexis team and look forward to their continued leadership and contributions to our school and community. You guys rock!!!!
