It was another amazing week for our Lexis English students here in beautiful Byron Bay, filled with opportunities to learn, explore, and connect. During the week, students tested their knowledge at trivia, rode the waves during a bodyboarding session, and had some peaceful time with yoga.
And as always, our weekly schedule kicked off with two key student support sessions:
- Every Monday, we host Conversation Club — a fun, relaxed way for students to practice speaking English, build confidence, and chat with classmates from all over the world.
- Every Tuesday, it’s Job Club — a practical session designed for students who are looking to find work in Australia. We cover everything from resume tips and job search strategies to interview preparation.
6 August – Trivia Afternoon
Wednesday brought out the competitive spirit with a lively Trivia session! Students teamed up to tackle questions on Aussie slang, pop culture, geography, and general knowledge. It was a great way to practice English in a natural setting, have fun, and learn a few new facts along the way. The best part? Meeting new people and enjoying lots of laughs.
Congratulations to our winning team — Cristobal, Julia, and Yeonjung — who took home a well-deserved packet of beer for their top score! Our fabulous runners-up — Tsumugi, Momoko, and Fumino — didn’t go empty-handed either, scoring a delicious packet of Tim Tams for second place. Well done, everyone!
7 August – Bodyboarding Adventure ♀️
On Thursday, it was time to get active with a thrilling Bodyboarding session at one of Byron’s stunning beaches. Many students gave bodyboarding a go for the first time and quickly got the hang of it! It was a fantastic chance to explore the coastline, stay active, and share a unique Aussie beach experience with new friends.
8 August – Yoga ♂️
We wrapped up the week with a peaceful Yoga Friday evening. The class was led by Elizabeth, one of our wonderful English teachers, who is also a certified yoga instructor.
Each of these activities gave students more than just fun memories — they also provided real opportunities to use English in everyday situations, connect with classmates, and immerse themselves in the laid-back Byron Bay lifestyle.
We love seeing our students grow more confident each week — in their language skills, their independence, and their friendships. Stay tuned for more adventures and activities to come!
