Teacher Training Highlights – Welcoming Japanese Educators to Lexis Byron Bay
Four weeks ago, we had the pleasure of welcoming a wonderful group of Japanese teachers to Lexis Byron Bay as part of our Teacher Training Program. A big shoutout to Naoki, Kazu, Yuichiro, Hiroki, Hirohito, Azumi, and Tamao, who joined us for two weeks of intensive learning, cultural exchange, and professional development.
Each morning, the teachers joined our regular English classes — some in the Upper Intermediate class and others in the IELTS Preparation class. This gave them a valuable opportunity to experience the student perspective, enhance their English skills, and engage with our diverse international community.
From 1:45 to 4:30 each afternoon, they participated in their dedicated Teacher Training Course, led by our experienced and supportive trainers — Paul, Lisa, and Elizabeth. The sessions focused on modern teaching methodologies, classroom management strategies, and practical activities designed to elevate their skills as educators. The environment was hands-on, collaborative, and filled with meaningful discussion and reflection.
Outside the classroom, they also took part in some of our classic Lexis activities, including an Aussie Food Tasting and a traditional Sausage Sizzle! These moments of fun and culture gave them the chance to relax, try something new, and enjoy the welcoming Byron Bay lifestyle.
Throughout their stay, they worked hard, connected with students and staff, and made the most of every experience. We’re proud of everything they achieved — from improving their English to growing as educators — and we hope their time with us has a lasting impact on their teaching careers.
It was a true joy having them here at Lexis Byron Bay. We wish them all the very best for the future, and we hope to welcome them back again one day!
