RSPCA Cupcake Day Fundraiser!
Fiorella and Ikuyo standing next to their tasty treats.
Animal Shaped Treats
We had an extra challenge for the day to make sweet treats in the shape of animals. Here are the creative creatures made by staff and students for the day:
Lisa’s fudge mice
Kristy’s lemon cupcake turtle
Veronica’s coconut bears
Michelle’s cinnamon snails
Ikuyo’s chocolate bear biscuits
Elizabeth’s banana mini-muffin caterpillar
Veronica’s savoury creatures
Everyone enjoyed getting together and it was so nice to see the school socialising … in English of course!
We had a competition to win a jar of marshmellows by guessing the amount in the jar which was 322!
1st was Lisa with 320
2nd was Adrienne with 260
3rd was Junho with 180
But Lisa didn’t want them…and Adrienne didn’t either…then Junho got them…who gave them to Elizabeth for her son. Haha!
Results!
Thursday 29th was Lexis English Byron Bay's RSPCA Cupcake Day. We had so many wonderful students and staff, some of whom came in on their day off, contribute their time and skills by baking and buying delicious treats to sell. Usually at this time of year we have over 100 students, but we are reduced numbers (around 20) so we set our goal to raise a total of $100.00...
...and we raised OVER DOUBLE that amount - a fantastic $269.15 for animals!
All of the money we raised directly helps animals suffering from abuse and neglect. Every year the RSPCA provide food, bedding, medical attention and a second chance at life to over 135,000 stray, surrendered and seized animals!!
We are so proud of everyone who got involved!
Thank you!!
