Here at Lexis Byron Bay we are lucky enough to have a teacher who is also a chef.
So today, Paul demonstrated how to make pizza from scratch to a large group of hungry students. He showed them how to make the dough with flour and yeast but also had one he’d made earlier as it’s important to give the dough time to rise.
Various topping including passata, mozzarella, salami, mushrooms and oregano were then added.
We debated when the cheese should go on before or after the toppings. A lot of purists said before as it helps the other topping stick to the pizza. However, when using slices of cheese, as Paul did, the cheese becomes one of the toppings. This is actually my favourite type of pizza.
