Today we welcome two new starters to our Lexis Byron Bay family: Jesica and Ezequiel, both from Argentina.
Jesica has been in Australia for two years already on a Working Holiday Visa. She loves travelling and was previously in Bali and then planning to go to New Zealand to work once her visa ran out here. Of course, COVID had other ideas and with the NZ borders closed she has decided that now is the perfect time to improve her English.
She told me that when she arrived in Brisbane two years ago she only knew a few words of English and relied on the kindness of strangers to get her to the bus stop and the atm. Now, she speaks very well and is currently studying Life Coaching. Her dream is to be able to help people to improve themselves and their lives and she hopes, one day to be able to study yoga in India.
Ezequiel (or CusCo as he is better known) is still on his first Working Holiday Visa and will be going to do his farm work later this this in order to get his second year. He is a Chef and is currently working at No Bones, a vegan restaurant in Byron. he likes surfing and playing football and says he’d like to live in Australia for many years, despite the fact that his family miss him. he has decided to come and study English because he’d like to be able to have good conversations with local people.
