Today we welcomed 3 new students to Lexis Byron Bay!
Joining us on an unusually rainy autumn day, they brought high spirits to the Lexis classroom this afternoon.

Michelle is Swiss-German and lives in Zurich. She is one of our youngest students on the Byron Bay campus at 19 years old, and made the spontaneous decision to enroll at Lexis and come to Australia only 2 weeks ago.
She wants to become a secondary school teacher, so is working towards her advanced and proficiency tests and found the best fit to achieve her goals is through Lexis courses. After finishing her course, she intends to travel around Australia before returning home to work towards her career goals. Michelle is keen to surf and adopt the Byron lifestyle so we will be seeing her out in the surf in no time.
Jeongwoo has come to us from Daegu, South Korea. He will be at Lexis Byron Bay for the next 12 weeks and wants to improve his vocabulary and pronunciation skills. He comes from a small family and lives in city and is looking for a new experience in the regional NSW, which he has already begun to see. We often warn our students that Byron residents don’t use umbrellas in the rain or wear shoes in the supermarket! Since studying public and police administration, he has come to Australia to gain a competitive edge in the job market at home. He is eager to meet new people, taste the famously fresh Byron produce and hopefully gain working experience after studying.
Elodie is Swiss-Dutch, and has moved to Australia to revisit the place where her parents met 35 years ago. They were both travelling Australia and met on Kangaroo Island before returning to Europe together and the rest is history. It has been a dream of hers to come here ever since. Elodie is an aspiring fashion designer and entrepreneur, planning to study at Lexis for 4 weeks to better her speaking skills before integrating herself in the Australian fashion industry. As she says, “where better to work in a swimwear brand than in the land where you can wear it all year long?”
We also had the cheerful Darcy from Let’s Go Surfing join orientation today, and he has convinced us all to join a beach day next week!
