Tell us a little about yourself Benji:

My name is Benjamin. I’m from Spain. I’m working in my country as a PE teacher in highschool.

I’m really interested in learning English because I love travelling and meeting new people. I arrived five weeks ago and this is my last week.

Why did you choose Byron Bay?

I chose Byron Bay because I had never been here before. I wanted to go surfing and I checked out the sporting activities here before I came.

What were your weaknesses in English before you came to Australia? Tell me more about your teachers and your classes.

I found it hard to speak to people in a natural way. I wanted to improve my agility to use grammar, as I found it tough to use spontaniously.

Kristy was my teacher, and you could tell that she prepared in a good way. We worked a lot, but she made sure it was correct.

What was your favourite activity?

Coffee Club is a good idea. It’s a relaxed environment to practice speaking English. Though I couldn’t choose just one thing because I tried everything! Soccer was really good fun too.

Tell me about your accommodation/ homestay…

My accomodation was onsite in a single room. The facilities that they have here are good, and the space and the environment is what I liked.

What are your favourite things to do in Byron?

I liked doing outdoor activitites like BBQs at the beach, beers at the Beachy or on the grass, snorkeling and surfing – I loved it! I liked to go surfing at Tallows, The Wreck and Clarkes. It would just depend on the conditions.

What is your most magical moment in Byron?

I would say my routine, and not just one paricular moment. I would start early and have a 6am surf or chill at the beach before lessons at school. It is a good life, a good routine.

What did you like most about Lexis Byron?

The relaxed and friendly environment, this was the best point about Lexis. And also the kindness of Siobhan and Diana.

What is your advice for people who are thinking about enrolling at Lexis Byron Bay?
