This week we say goodbye to two students: Leire and Junho.
Junho, from South Korea, has been at Lexis Byron Bay since March 2020 and has studied with us for 26 weeks in total. He joined the Pre-Int class in the ‘normal’ pre-COVID days. Jun’s grammar knowledge was already quite strong before he came to Lexis and, while this continued to improve, he has taken great leaps forward in all the skill areas, especially speaking and writing.
His teacher, Kathleen, said, “One of the outstanding things about Jun is his diligence – he’s certainly one of the most hardworking students I’ve ever taught.”
Jun has formed close friendships with other students including gym-twin Fio, study-buddy Ikuyo, and test-taking mates Rafa and Jaume. We all wish him the best of luck in the future, as he deserves it.
Leire, from Spain, has studied with us since July for a total of 15 weeks. She already had a high level of English and started in the Advanced class. Her teacher, Josie, described her as ‘just lovely’ and said that she was always an enthusiastic and creative participant. She also particularly praised her writing. Leire has her own business designing and selling malabeads (find out more at www.instagram.com/yam.malabeads). She’s not sure what her plans are next but hopes to stay in Australia for a while. Perhaps we’ll see her back on a Lexis Training course at some point.
