Today, I am writing about Maho, a beautiful student from Japan.
Maho is 22 and from Tokyo. She is with Lexis in Byron Bay since the beginning of August.
In her 4 weeks at Lexis she has made enormous progress with her English.
I am very thrilled to have met her, Maho is such a beautiful student.
To find out more about her, I met her in our garden today for Lunch.

Why did you decide to come to Byron Bay?
I didn’t know anything about Australia. I live in Tokyo and asked my agent for a language school in a small town near the Beach. Byron Bay was recommended by my Agency and I am very glad to be here! The school is close to Byron Town and the Beach. You can walk everywhere, it is awesome!
Did you come straight to Byron Bay when you arrived in Australia?
Yes, my flight was scheduled to arrive at the Gold Coast, but I had to take a different flight and ended up arriving in Brisbane. The airline forgot to sent my luggage and the first two days I was left without any personal belongings. It was terrifying! But the airline paid me some compensation money and I could buy some brand new clothes in Byron Bay 🙂

What are your plans for the future?
My enrolment at Lexis is finishing at the end of September. I will travel to Sydney, to start a remedial massage therapy course. This course continues for 10 months and after I graduate, I will fly back home to Japan. At home, I want to work as a massage therapist and own a salon one day.
Why did you decide to study at Lexis?
I always wanted to study remedial massage therapy abroad. Because I was a bit scared to study in English, I wanted to do an English course beforehand. My Agency recommended Lexis. I am thrilled, that I made this decision. It is an amazing experience and I made so many new friends.

Have you enjoyed your time in Byron Bay so far?
Yes, I love being here in Byron Bay. This little town is so different than my hometown Tokyo. It is amazing how friendly everyone is. I love being so close to the Beach and I have participated in a lot of activities at Lexis. I am planning to book a kayak with dolphin tour before I leave to Sydney. I am excited to see Whales and Dolphins!
What are your favourite things to do in Byron?
I love all these little cafes and restaurants in Byron Bay. There is a lot of different choices and flavours. I also like that you can walk everywhere. It is a great place to live and study.
Would you recommend studying English at Lexis in Australia ?
Yes, absolutely. I would recommend Lexis. I can’t say much about the other campuses but the Byron Bay one is great for me. It is right in town and I can go to the beach after class. It’s also best to be in a English speaking country to learn the language.

Learn English in Byron Bay. Lexis English students study General English, IELTS, FCE, CAE, and English plus Surfing in a friendly and professional school right in the heart of Byron Bay and only 15 minutes from the beach.
