There was a very impressive turn out for our recent Friday afternoon barefoot bowls at the Byron Bay Bowling Club.

Barefoot bowls is a popular variation of the traditional sport of lawn bowls, where players participate without wearing shoes. It is a casual and relaxed version of the game that has gained significant popularity in recent years, particularly in Australia.

The weather was on our side, gifting us with a mild, sunny day. Some students enjoyed a cold beer from the tap. It is common to enjoy a drink or share a meal while playing but you’ll get told off if you drink or eat on the lawn!

Our games conveniently concluded at the start of the Bowls Club’s happy hour. Friday barefoot bowling was a wonderful way to bring in the weekend.
