February at Lexis English Brisbane was all about good food, great company, and unforgettable experiences! Our Friday activities brought students together to cook, taste, and share their cultures through food and drinks. Let’s take a look back at the highlights!
Hedgehog Slice Making – A Chocolate Lover’s Dream! (Feb 7)
We put on our chef hats and got hands-on with one of Australia’s favourite sweet treats—Hedgehog slices! With just a few ingredients, teamwork, and a love for chocolate, our students whipped up some delicious slices that were impossible to resist. The best part? Seeing everyone come together, learning, laughing, and creating something tasty to share. Well done to our student chefs—you nailed it!
❤️ A Day Full of Love & Friendship! (Feb 14)
Happy Valentine’s Day! At Lexis Brisbane, we believe in celebrating not just romance but also friendship and community. The student lounge was filled with good vibes as we enjoyed snacks, music, and fun games. One of the highlights was Speed Friending—just like speed dating, but instead of finding a date, we made new friends! Lots of phone numbers and social media connections were exchanged, bringing our student community even closer.
To top it off, we learned how to dance the Bush Dance and had a blast moving to Macarena, Gangnam Style, and more! The energy was contagious, and the room was full of laughter all afternoon.
Beer Tasting – A Sip of Aussie Culture! (Feb 21)
Our beer tasting session was a full house! Students were excited to try some of Australia’s most well-known beers and learn a little about what Aussies love to drink. Nobody got drunk (don’t worry—it was just a tasting!), but we all had a fantastic time comparing flavours, sharing laughs, and enjoying the great vibes with friends.
International Food Day – A Feast of Flavours! (Feb 28)
To close the month, we wanted to celebrate the diversity of our amazing student community. We invited everyone to bring a special snack or traditional dish from their home country—and the result was an incredible spread of flavours from Korea to Japan, Taiwan to El Salvador, and more!
It was a true cultural experience, not just for the taste buds but also for learning about the stories, traditions, and love that go into each dish. Seeing our students share their cultures so proudly was the perfect way to wrap up another amazing month at Lexis Brisbane!
