On a vibrant afternoon on 09 April, Lexis English Brisbane turned up the volume—and the energy—for one of our most popular social events: the Mix and Mingle Party! With students from all over the world gathered in one space, it was the perfect recipe for new connections, great conversations, and an unforgettable good time.
As the music flowed through the student lounge and the snack table filled with treats and drinks, the vibe was set. There were no barriers, no strangers—just a room full of friendly faces, open hearts, and curious minds. Whether you were a new arrival still learning names or a long-time student showing others around, the Mix and Mingle was the ultimate chance to get social and soak up the multicultural magic of Lexis.
Snacks, Sips, and Great Tunes
What’s a party without great food and drinks? The table was full of colourful snacks and refreshing beverages, giving everyone something to nibble on while they mingled. From international favourites to Aussie classics, there was something for every taste. With plates in hand and upbeat music in the background, students roamed the room in search of both snacks and new conversations.
And oh, the music! With a playlist curated by students and staff, the room buzzed with everything from Latin beats to pop hits and feel-good classics. It didn’t take long before shoulders were bouncing and impromptu dance circles started forming. It was more than just background noise—it was the soundtrack to a growing community.
Breaking the Ice, Building Connections
Even for the shyest attendees, the atmosphere was welcoming and warm. Everyone was encouraged to introduce themselves, share a bit about their background, and strike up conversations with someone new. It was inspiring to see how easily English brought people together—students practicing their language skills while also learning about different cultures, traditions, and life stories.
We saw friendships begin between people who had never met before, laughter shared between total strangers, and photos snapped that we know will become cherished memories. It was a true reflection of the global community we’re so proud of at Lexis.
