Ferry Tour, Cupcake Decorating and Friday Drinks @ Felons Brewery!

It was another fantastic week at Lexis Brisbane, packed with fun activities and new experiences. Students enjoyed a relaxing ferry ride along the Brisbane River, taking in the city views and spending time together, before getting creative with our cupcake decorating activity, where everyone had fun designing and enjoying their delicious creations. We finished the week with afternoon drinks at Felons, giving students the chance to unwind, socialise and enjoy the Brisbane riverside atmosphere together. It was a week full of creativity, connection and making the most of life outside the classroom.
Check out what we did last week

City Cat Ferry Tour
Taking advantage of Queensland’s spectacular transport fees, you can take a scenic ferry (boat) for only 50 cents through the city, looking at historic and skyscraper buildings. Even travel underneath the famous ‘Story Bridge’.
We travelled from our campus to New Farm Park, where we had some time to explore the park while waiting for the next ferry.
From there, we jumped back on the ferry and made our way towards South Bank, passing some of Brisbane’s most iconic sights along the way. As we travelled past Kangaroo Point Cliffs, we shared one of our favourite local tips with students — it’s a great spot for watching the sunset, and every Sunday at sunset, there’s even a DJ playing there.
We also passed The Star Casino and SkyDeck before finishing our tour at Streets Beach in South Bank.
This tour was a great way for our students to get a feel for Brisbane, see the city from a different perspective, and discover some of the hidden tips and local spots that you might not find.

Cupcake Decorating
Thursdays at Lexis Brisbane are normally our unwind days! Students get together and get to participate in a creative activity. Some days we paint, other times we bake! Last Thursday we decorated cupcakes. With tons of frosting, food colouring and some edible funny faces, flowers and eyeballs. Students created some amazing cupcakes.
It was truly amazing to see our students get creative and bring their imaginations to life with such fun animals and designs!
Federica from Italy, who only started with us last week, got stuck straight in and created some amazing cupcakes — including an adorable blue fluffy monster! It was so much fun seeing everyone’s personalities shine through their colourful and creative designs.

Felons Brewery
Ahhh, after a busy week of studying, waking up early for class, and settling into a new city and way of life, we thought our students deserved some time to simply relax and enjoy themselves!
A trip to Felons Brewery on a sunny Friday afternoon was the perfect way to finish the week. Just a short walk from our campus, Felons sits right along the Brisbane River, with plenty of riverside seating, live music and major sporting games on the big screens. It’s such a great spot for our students to experience a little more of Brisbane’s local atmosphere.
We spent the afternoon playing card games, getting competitive with a few rounds of Imposter, chatting and enjoying some food and drinks by the river. It was a lovely afternoon, and even better, plenty of new friendships were made along the way!

Thank you to everyone who joined us last week for our activities!! If you would like to join us this week. Make sure you sign up on our activity noticeboard 🙂
