Football Trick Competition, World Cup Decorations & World Cup Watch Party!
One of the biggest sporting events in the world is currently underway, and Lexis Brisbane was ready and excited! Not only was the World Cup kicking off, but our Cambridge Exams were also just around the corner. With a mix of fun, engaging football activities and workshops designed to help our Cambridge students prepare for their exams, this week was the perfect balance of learning and World Cup excitement.
The week kicked off with our Football Trick Competition, where the boys showed off their exceptional skills and creativity with the ball. On Thursday, we transformed the student lounge into a World Cup fan zone, decorating it with flags from around the world, posters of football legends such as Ronaldo, Messi and Neymar, a golden World Cup trophy, and plenty more.
To finish the week, students gathered together to support South Korea in their opening World Cup match. With snacks, plenty of cheering, and a fantastic atmosphere, it was a great way to bring everyone together. We also celebrated with our Friday theme, “Wear Your Team Jersey Day,” with students proudly representing their favourite countries and clubs from around the world.

Football Trick Challenge
We have so much hidden talent across our campus! To celebrate the start of the World Cup, we hosted a friendly competition featuring football skills and tricks. Yanis, Ben, and John wowed the crowd with some incredible displays of talent, creativity, and control. After a tough judging process, Dan crowned John as our overall winner. Congratulations to everyone who took part and helped make it such a fun event!
Football Decorations
To get into the World Cup spirit, we transformed our student lounge into a football-themed space. With flags from around the world, footballs, images of some of the sport’s biggest stars, and plenty of themed decorations, the lounge became a vibrant hub for students to come together and celebrate the excitement of the tournament.

World Cup Open Day – South Korea v Czechia
The excitement of the World Cup officially kicked off on campus as students gathered to watch the opening match between South Korea and Czechia. Dressed proudly in their team jerseys and national colours, students brought the energy and even some of the staff. The thrilling match kept everyone on the edge of their seats, with plenty of cheers, chants, and excitement throughout. With snacks flowing and the lounge full of energy, it was a fantastic way to bring everyone together and start the World Cup in the best possible way.
