Indoor Soccer Tournament, The Star Sky Deck and Chocolate-covered cookies
At Lexis Brisbane, we love offering a vibrant mix of activities that encourage our students to step out of their comfort zones and showcase their unique talents! With new students arriving and graduating every week, our goal is to create a welcoming community where everyone can easily chat, connect, and build lifelong friendships.
Our students had an action-packed week of bonding and exploring Brisbane! We started with some friendly competition during a high-intensity indoor soccer tournament at Brisbane City Indoor Sports. Later in the week, we headed over to The Star, taking the elevator to the 24th floor to soak up breathtaking panoramic views of the city. Finally, we slowed things down and tapped into our creativity by making and decorating delicious chocolate-covered biscuits. It was the perfect way to connect and celebrate a fantastic week together!

Indoor Soccer Tournament:
It was a thrilling, high-energy Wednesday afternoon at Brisbane Indoor Sports as 30 enthusiastic students came down to join and support our Indoor Soccer Tournament. The event was all about encouraging students to try something completely new or reconnect with the sport they love from back home, and the energy on the court did not disappoint. A massive congratulations to Dan, Tyrone, Yanis, Gebril, and Zak, who dominated the competition to finish undefeated, showcasing both incredible skill and stellar sportsmanship.
Yuma from Japan put on an absolute masterclass with some amazing footwork, while Willy from Taiwan came out of his comfort zone. Despite having never played soccer in his life and initially showing up just to watch, Willy faced his fears, stepped onto the court, and tried his absolute hardest. It is that kind of action we love to see at Lexis Brisbane!
The Star – Sky Deck
After a week of relentless rain, Brisbane has finally turned on the sunshine—and there’s no better place to soak it in than the Sky Deck at The Star. Perched 100 meters (23 stories) above the heart of the CBD, this open-air deck offers spectacular 360-degree views that showcase the very best of the city. To one side, the iconic Story Bridge stretches over the river toward the lush City Botanic Gardens. Turn around, and you’re treated to a bird’s-eye view of South Bank’s Streets Beach and the Cultural Precinct. It’s the ultimate way to rediscover Brisbane from a completely new perspective.
Willy, Shuko, Manami, and Akari had a wonderful time. Taking lots of snaps and videos of the views. They got to point out to each other all the places they have visited. Willy also spotted Mount Coot-tha, where we hiked up last month for an activity.
Shu and Akari got very nervous stepping onto the glass floor at first, but they quickly built up enough confidence that they and Manami were eventually jumping on it!
Tree Dipper Biscuits
A Friday afternoon treat is the perfect way to wrap up the week! There is nothing better than following a recipe, getting creative with decorating, and finishing off by eating your delicious creation. Tree Dipper Biscuits are a fun, easy recipe that the students absolutely loved. Using a base of hundreds-and-thousands cookies, we melted chocolate and added lots of sprinkles. The goal was to dip and cover the cookies in chocolate to create the illusion of a little tree. The students had a blast gathering their own ingredients, figuring out the steps, and finally devouring their edible designs.
