Fun-Filled Activities at Lexis Brisbane: Supporting the Brisbane Roar Football Club, Decorating and getting our campus into the Christmas Spirit, designing and constructing our personalised Keychains, and an afternoon of laughter and drinks!
Recently, at Lexis Brisbane, our activities have focused on friendship, adventure, embracing the vibrant city lifestyle and starting to get into our Christmas spirit. We believe learning extends far beyond the classroom, giving everyone the chance to practise English naturally while forming meaningful connections and creating unforgettable memories with their friends.
From an action-packed afternoon screaming and supporting our Brisbane Roar Football Club, beginning our Christmas joy at the markets, and having a cold beer in the sun on a Friday. Students mingled, shared introductions, and discovered fun facts about one another, making their English practice both enjoyable and engaging. To get our bodies moving after being in class all week, we decided that a 35-minute Pilates workout would be such an amazing opportunity to step out of our comfort zones and try something we have never tried before!
Christmas is officially 3 weeks away, and Lexis Brisbane has come alive with Christmas Decorations– filled with lights and Christmas trees! Bowling and Key Chain Designing were also a top hit at our campus a few weeks ago! Our activities are fulfilling and have something that everyone of our Lexis Brisbane students can do and enjoy.

Brisbane Roar Football Match VS Melbourne Victory:
Football season is upon us in Australia, and our spontaneous trip, thanks to Dan and Tito, to watch Brisbane Roar FC take on Melbourne, was a highlight of the week. Australian Football is so different from European Football, and we loved spotting all the little differences throughout the match. Brisbane Roar took the win 1–0, which only added to the excitement. There was delicious food, cold beer, and plenty of laughter—plus some friendly banter over which national team is better: Switzerland or France! Listening to the Brisbane crowd’s chants echoing through the stadium as they battled Melbourne made the whole experience unforgettable.
Tanguy, Nilo, Dan, Tito and Tom were all in on supporting the home side. They decided that the best souvenir would be matching Brisbane jerseys—something they could take home and remember forever.

Christmas Markets and Beers in the Pub Garden:
On Friday afternoon, we took a sunny walk down to Fortitude Valley to visit our first Christmas Market of the season! Spirits were high after wrapping up another hard-working week. The markets were full of charm, with stalls selling cute handmade trinkets and beautifully crafted jewellery that everyone loved browsing through. Afterwards, we wandered over to a nearby beer garden for a late-afternoon lunch paired with cold, refreshing beers.
Tom announced he would only have one beer—though his “one beer” turned out to be an entire jug, which definitely set the tone for the afternoon! We all sat together, chatting, laughing, and getting to know each other, especially with so many new students joining us this week. It was the perfect way to end the week and kick off the festive season.

Pilates:
Mid-week reset and workout! This week’s activity was Pilates—and it was such a good choice. We had students stepping out of their comfort zones, including some who had never tried Pilates before, and everyone absolutely smashed it. Our activity co-ordinator led the class, blasting music to keep the energy high while our bodies ached, burned and shook through the session.
Moto would say otherwise when asked about this activity – he discovered muscles he didn’t know he had, and he made sure we knew about the pain and shakes he was feeling! A 35-minute workout, followed by a calming reset with meditation and stretching, was all we needed to feel refreshed, rebalanced and amazing!
Bowling:
A few weeks ago, we spent the afternoon bowling at Strike Wintergarden—and it was an absolute blast. There was nonstop laughter, plenty of snacks, and just the right amount of friendly competition. Tomoki and Aurore kept everyone entertained with their hilarious banter throughout the entire game. In the end, Breichell and Shana dominated the lanes and were officially crowned the Champions of Lexis Brisbane!
Christmas Decorations:
Emre, Breichell, Lynn and Aimi were our superstars this week, transforming the campus and giving it a magical Christmas glow! From decorating Christmas trees and hanging lights to creating their very own personalised stockings, they brought the festive spirit to life.
For many of our students, Christmas in Australia is a completely new experience—most have never celebrated the holidays in the middle of summer. That’s why we’ve made it our mission to help them discover what an Aussie Christmas is all about, where Santa swaps snow boots for flip-flops and shorts!
Christmas is all about coming together, celebrating the year we’ve had, and spending time with people we care about. And this year, we’re excited to share that warmth, joy and uniquely Australian festive fun with our students.
Thank you to everyone who joined these fun activities!
