Winter Solstice at Q Station – Sydney

The solstice marks the onset of winter, at the time of the shortest day, about 22 December in the northern hemisphere and 21 June in the southern hemisphere. The tickets include 45-minute guided sauna with infusion or sauna scents from Scandinavia by Cedar & Salt Sauna, guided Ice bath, mulled wine after your sauna or ice bath session, BBQ feast at the Boilerhouse Kitchen & Bar at Q Station and live music before or after your session

Whale Watching Season – Northern Beaches

May – November

It’s that time of year again, when over 35,000 whales swim onto the Humpback Highway for their yearly migration to the much warmer birthing waters of Queensland. The Northern Beaches has some of the best spots for whale watching in Sydney. North Head has numerous fantastic vantage points to spot whales, but the most popular and easiest to reach is the lookout behind the carpark at Shelly Beach. Keep an eye out for telltale splashes, as the whales flick their tails or fountains of water spouting from the whales blowhole each time they breathe out. The lookout at the top of North Head can be reached by walking a 9km return scenic route, or you could catch bus 161.

Weaving workshop with Aboriginal Master Weaver – Sydney

Regina Wilson, Master fibre weaver from Durrmu Arts in Peppimenarti will be in Sydney for a limited time and you can join her for an exclusive 2.5 hour hands-on weaving masterclass. The weavings are made of merrepen (sandpalm) which are harvested, the fronds are then collected and then stripped in smaller natural fibres and then often naturally dyed with bush plants, roots and berries to make yellow, red, black, orange, purple, and pink. Regina will bring the pre-dyed and stripped merrepen as well as some harvested unstripped sandpalm for people to practice stripping.
