Australia and its flavours – Lexis Brisbane –21st August

Lexis Brisbane students had an unforgettable experience during the Aussie Food Tasting activity, one of the many enriching events at our English school in Australia. International students sampled iconic Australian treats such as Sausage Rolls, Lamingtons, Anzac Biscuits, Timtams, fairy bread, vegemite, and Solo Lemon Soft Drink.

The activity was accompanied by Professor Richard, who provided insightful explanations about each item, sharing interesting facts about their significance in Australian culture. For instance, he explained how fairy bread is a staple at children’s parties, beloved by kids, the historical importance of Anzac biscuits, and the local production of Solo Lemon.

Our students love this kind of activity, since it allows them to fully immerse themselves in Australian culture. Tasting traditional foods isn’t just about enjoying delicious treats; it’s an invaluable opportunity to learn about Australia’s culinary heritage and history. These activities help students feel more connected to their host country and foster a strong sense of community among participants.

Furthermore, food tasting events at Lexis Brisbane encourage social interaction and communication, with students sharing their opinions and preferences. This not only enhances their language skills in a relaxed and enjoyable setting but also helps them expand their vocabulary and gain confidence in their English abilities.

Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi! We hope everyone had a wonderful time enjoying our delicious Australian food. Join us at Lexis Brisbane, where learning English is a cultural adventure. We look forward to seeing you at the next exciting activity!
