Rock Climbing, Tote Bag decorating and Queensland vs Fiji Rugby Match
Last week at Lexis Brisbane, our students had some truly unforgettable experiences. With Cambridge exams just around the corner and new students joining us every week, these activities provided the perfect opportunity for everyone to step outside their comfort zones, build new friendships, and create lasting memories.
These experiences play an important role in our students’ English-learning journey. They encourage students to immerse themselves in Australian culture while putting the language skills they learn in the classroom into practice in real-life situations. Through these shared adventures, students gain confidence, improve their communication skills, and make the most of their time in Australia.
A small group of students challenged themselves with indoor rock climbing, an activity that none of them had tried before. It was a fantastic opportunity to face new challenges, build confidence, and support each other along the way.
Students also had the chance to get creative by designing and painting their own tote bags, which is always a popular activity and a great way to relax while socialising with classmates.
The highlight of the week was Friday night’s trip to watch the Queensland Reds take on the Fijian Drua at Suncorp Stadium. The exciting atmosphere, passionate fans, and high-quality rugby made for an unforgettable evening and a true Australian sporting experience.
Check out what we did last week!

Rock Climbing:
Taiki, Yuma, Shotaro and Yu got to try a new experience – Rock Climbing! Indoor Rock Sports has incredibly different climbing walls to test different strengths and abilities. Yu and Yuma were absolute natural climbers. Taiki and Shotaro stuck to the easier walls, but you could see their confidence grow more and more as they tried different walls.

Tote Bag Decorating:
A campus favourite – Tote Bag Decorating! This gives our students creative freedom to design, paint, and draw their ideas onto a one-of-a-kind tote bag they can keep forever. We always get so amazed by how talented students at Lexis Brisbane are.

Queensland Red vs Fiji Drua Rugby Game:
Occasionally on Friday nights, we treat our students to a true Australian experience by taking them to some of the country’s biggest sporting events. Sport is a huge part of Australian culture, with passionate fans, electric atmospheres, and thrilling action that keeps everyone on the edge of their seats.
For many of our students, it was their first time watching rugby — and for some, the first time they had even heard of the sport! It was an exciting opportunity to experience something completely new while immersing themselves in Australian life.
To make the night even more memorable, we scored incredible seats right on the front row of the try line. With Lexis students filling almost three entire rows, our cheering section was impossible to miss!
Queensland Reds came out with a win – scoring themselves into the qualifying finals against the Chiefs.
